Monday July 14th 6-8pm at Tooth and Nail Studio 2018 S 1st Street Suite 308, Milwaukee.
This is a one time class that focuses on creating functional objects out of clay using the slab-building method. We’ll cover the basics of how to build with just your hands and a couple of tools. Each session covers a different object type, making it a great entry point for beginners or those with some clay experience that want to play with the boundaries of function. Throughout this class we’ll go over key elements of hand-building, like score & slip, using slump molds, and how clay dryness affects what you build.
This session’s class will focus on creating slab built plates. We’ll go through what makes a plate a plate, and how you can play with some of those elements to create something that is truly unique to you.
