Vices
Even moderation in moderation
What if our vices aren’t the problem, but the shame we carry because of them? This exhibition challenges the idea that vices are inherently harmful, reframing them not as failures of willpower but as survival mechanisms, tools that have softened life’s blows when nothing else could. Rather than striving for some imagined “vice-free” self, we ask: What if we embraced ourselves as we are, without condition?
This Pride Month group exhibition was curated by Milwaukee artist Anna Rose Menako and features works from Nyanna Krajewski, Muta’Aliah Green, Carley Knight, Anna Menako, Mia Rimmer, and Arwil. From painting, drawing, fiber arts, and sculpture we can witness these LGBTQIA+ artists responses to this vulnerable theme.
Join us for an opening reception Friday June 6th 6-9pm at Tooth + Nail Gallery 2018 S 1st Street suite 308, Milwaukee.
