Studio Manager

(Full-Time, 30-35 Hours/Week)

Creative spaces need strong systems behind them.

We’re looking for a Studio Manager who can keep our ceramics studio organized, welcoming, and running smoothly — especially as we build and manage new programming.

This role is part operations lead, part community anchor.

What You’ll Do:

Manage Daily Studio Functions

Lead Tooth & Nail’s studio technician team to manage day to day studio functions, including managing the studio’s kiln schedule, material library, clay reclaim schedule, and daily maintenance tasks. 

Manage Scheduling
Maintain internal employee and seasonal intern schedule

Support Community Members
The Studio Manager should be able to balance being a supportive and welcoming presence to students and members while also ensuring that the daily functions of the studio are completed. They should understand studio policies and be a resource for new guests and members. 

Maintain and Manage Studio Materials
The Studio Manager oversees the management of studio materials including making and maintaining the studio’s library of glazes. They will also be responsible for putting together orders and sourcing materials for the studio. 

Required:

  • Experience in an arts education environment

  • Experience working in a shared studio environment

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and other online tools

  • Advanced level of ceramics material knowledge including:

    • Ability to make, develop, and maintain glazes, colored slips, and other ceramic materials

    • Understanding of firing electric kilns and basic kiln maintenance

  • Ability to lift and move 50+ pound boxes of clay and other materials

Details:

  • 30-35 hours per week

  • Daytime weekday availability required.

  • Compensation starts at $20/hour. Pay is negotiable based on experience.
