Build a festive holiday luminary from clay using simple pinching and/or slab-building techniques, then add cutouts, textures, and other details to let the light shine through. No previous ceramics experience is necessary—beginners are absolutely welcome!

Using hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling, slabs, and extruding, we will created unique, whimsical, strange, or adorable holders for taper candles. Explore shape and texture, and leave with something fun and functional. Beginners welcome!

Create up to 3 ceramic ornaments with hand-painted decorations! We’ll clear glaze and fire your ornaments and they will be ready for pick up one week later.

Create a portal for ritual, grief, death, and devotion in this workshop led by ceramicist Janelle Gramling and death doula Abby Goelzer.

All experience levels welcome. Templates will be provided for beginners, more advanced participants can design their own shape. The studio will slow-dry and fire the altars, which will be ready for pickup 3 weeks after class.

In this class we will be creating baskets using clay coils. Our custom-designed ceramic baskets will be slow dried and fired without glaze to reveal the beautiful natural stoneware texture.

We'll utilize slab-building with the assistance of paper templates to build baking dishes to make everything from a casserole to a brownie... the best part? We'll have an assortment of paint brushes and stencils to get you started, but the platter is your oyster! 

Each ticket purchased provides one pre-made platter to paint.
