For teens ages 13-17
In this hands-on summer camp, teens will dive into the art of wheel throwing and learn the fundamentals of working with clay on the pottery wheel. Over the course of the camp, students will practice centering, pulling walls, shaping forms, and trimming their pieces, with a focus on making bowls, cups, and small vessels. Whether they’re brand new to the wheel or looking to build on past experience, campers will receive plenty of individual instruction and time to explore their own creative style.
Alongside technical skills, students will also have the chance to decorate their work using techniques like carving, stamping, and underglazing. Campers will leave with a solid foundation in wheel throwing and several finished, functional pieces that they can be proud of. All work will be fired after camp and available for pickup—perfect for everyday use or sharing as handmade gifts!
