August 16th 2-5pm at Tooth & Nail Studio 2018 S 1st Street suite 308.
Come learn the magic of cyanotype printing! In this hands-on workshop, everyone is invited to create and bring home up to four 9x12 cyanotype prints. The process uses paper that has been coated with special chemicals that react to UV light, creating a rich blue color surrounding objects that have been placed on the paper. Objects range from pressed flowers, plants and feathers to images printed on transparent paper. Ideally, something with interesting shapes/borders or translucent. We will supply all materials, including paper that Amber has coated, and use of Amber’s personal pressed flower collection. However, if you have items you’d like to bring in (and are ok with them being exposed to UV light), please do! Jewelry, knick knacks, feathers, your own pressed flowers, photos printed on transparent paper…whatever your heart desires!
Amber has woven her love of art into most aspects of her life…she taught middle school art, has dragged her kids to art museums and events 15 years and counting, brings art workshops to extended family on summer vacations, currently works in a youth music organization, and plays cello in a community orchestra.
