Previous ceramic experience is required for our Skills Clinic Series. This one-time class is meant to help participants gain a better understanding of how glaze works, and learn essential tips and tricks to getting a smooth glaze application. We’ll go over the kinds of defects that can happen, what to look for to prevent those mishaps, and surface decoration techniques for dipping and layering glazes. Surface decoration is the finishing touch for all ceramics and at the end of this workshop we hope that you’ll be more confident when it comes to applying glazes. It’s recommended that participants should be at either Level 1 or 2 in hand building or wheel throwing, and will need to bring in two bisque fired pieces to glaze.
