Weaving with Found + Recycled Materials
Monday June 9th 6-8:30pm at Tooth and Nail Studio 2018 S 1st Street suite 308, Milwaukee, WI
This one-time workshop is a beginner-friendly introduction to weaving using simple cardboard looms and a variety of recycled and repurposed materials. No experience is necessary—just a willingness to experiment and get creative!
Participants will learn how to warp a loom, explore basic weaving techniques, and incorporate unconventional materials like fabric strips, yarn remnants, and textile scraps to create a textured, one-of-a-kind wall hanging. All materials are provided, but feel free to bring your own fabric scraps or worn textiles you'd love to give new life to.
This class is a fun, low-pressure way to explore weaving with a focus on sustainability, creativity, and self-expression. You’ll leave with a finished or in-progress piece and the knowledge to keep weaving at home.
Caitlin Anguil is an artist and art educator specializing in macramé and weaving. Passionate about fiber arts, they create tactile works and lead beginner-friendly workshops that inspire creativity and confidence. Through teaching, they share the meditative and expressive qualities of weaving and knotting, making fiber art accessible to all.
